The curtain has fallen on the 2025\u00a0Porsche Sprint Challenge GB, with the season finale taking place at the legendary\u00a0Brands Hatch GP\u00a0circuit. After a year of progress, podiums, and hard-fought battles, the final round brought a tough but determined end to what has been an impressive second full season of racing for Jacob.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qualifying<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saturday\u2019s qualifying session didn\u2019t go our way.\u00a0\u00a0After a strong Friday, we knew we would be good in either wet or dry conditions, but unfortunately, qualifying brought both!\u00a0\u00a0Ultimately, a setup decision compromised a dry tire run whilst on a wet track, which gave Jacob no confidence in the car, ending up\u00a0an incredibly disappointing 13th on the grid.\u00a0\u00a0We quickly put this behind us and our focus turned to recovery across the three races.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Race 1<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting from deep in the field, Race 1 became a test of patience and race craft. Jacob managed his tyres well, stayed out of trouble, and climbed through the order to finish\u00a0eighth, securing valuable points and demonstrating the car\u2019s strong pace once clean air was found.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Race 2<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second race on Sunday morning saw more forward momentum. Jacob made another strong start and showed excellent speed in the opening laps, making up places and pushing towards the top five. He ultimately crossed the line in\u00a0sixth, setting his sights on an even stronger result in the season finale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Race 3<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The final race of the year offered one last chance to end the season on a high. Jacob fought hard throughout the 20-minute contest, closing down the cars ahead and pushing for a podium. Despite a clear pace advantage, overtaking opportunities were sparse, and he finished the race in\u00a0fifth place, narrowly missing out on a final podium of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Driver’s Words<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt was an incredibly tough way to end the year, especially after how strong we\u2019d been through the whole season prior to this.  We had great pace at Brands Hatch, but qualifying put us out of position and with overtaking so hard, it was difficult to make the progress we wanted.  After the two mechanical issues in round one at Donington, we were on the back foot right from the start and we fought back strongly.  Finishing third in the championship after such a big comeback is something to be proud of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I can\u2019t thank everyone at Duckhams Yuasa Racing enough for their support this year, it\u2019s been a privilege to win races with these iconic colours, and they\u2019ve helped me grow massively as a driver.  We\u2019ll regroup over the winter and I\u2019ll do everything in my power to come back stronger in 2026.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the weekend didn\u2019t deliver the podium finish the team was hoping for, it capped off a season filled with progress, consistency, and front-running pace. Jacob ends the year\u00a0third in the RS Pro Championship, just 18 points behind the eventual winner, Tom Bradshaw \u2014 an impressive achievement given the comeback from sixth in the standings after the opening round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year has marked a major step forward in pace and competitiveness, proving Jacob\u2019s ability to challenge at the sharp end of the grid and reinforcing his ambitions for the next step in his motorsport journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
